Paying for Therapy

Investment:

$215 Initial intake 60-minute session

$180 per 50-minute session

  • Aetna, Cigna, Quest Behavioral Health, Magellan, Anthem, Blue Cross, Blue Shield California, Carelon Behavioral Health, Anthem EAP Bank of America

  • You may be entitled to reimbursement for out-of-network behavioral health services. To find out more, call the number on the back of your insurance card or contact your health plan administrator.

The process of getting reimbursed can take time (sometimes several months). Some people find that third party services, such as Reimbursify, helps alleviate the chore of corresponding with insurance companies. They charge a small fee to negotiate on your behalf.

  • I happily provide superbills for those who wish to submit claims for insurance reimbursement.

Superbills are a monthly statement or receipt of therapy sessions you’ve paid for. You’ll receive this at the end of each month.

These can be submitted with a batch claim so you don’t have to submit weekly receipts.

  • You are welcome to use and place on file your Health Savings Account card (HSA) or Flexible Savings Account (FSA) card.

These cards are not typically eligible to pay for missed appointments.

  • I require at least 24 hours prior notice. Less than 24 hour notice and you will be charged the full fee of the session. Alternatively, we may be able to reschedule.

  • The No Surprises Act requires health care providers to provide clients with a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) of expected charges for items and services to uninsured and self-pay patients. The GFE is only an estimate and actual charges may differ.

About telehealth therapy:

  • Works just as well as regular therapy
    (even for EMDR)

  • Convenient for moms who are short on time

  • Delivered from the comfort of your home

  • Accessible if baby needs to come with you

  • Many clients still feel it’s just as intimate as in-person and don’t notice the difference after a few sessions
